Plus anything with the word Fart in it is fun! I am a deeper type person though, what were your thoughts on the word and how it is used?

Re: Dude, What A FARTKNOCKER!

I think that the fact that you thought of the word fartknocker is more deep and profound than you think... How did you come up with that word for this story?

Re: Dude, What A FARTKNOCKER!

I like the word fartknocker just saying it feels good

Re: Overcoming Six False Identifications Of Self

Thanks Chris! I realize how much work it is to allow your true self to shine and then allow your mind to do things that showcase that. It's not work in a physical sense but a mental work. One of my toughest truths to accept is that destruction sometimes proceeds creation. It's not allowing the idea that all things will and do come to an end that keeps people in denial and anxiety.

Re: Overcoming Six False Identifications Of Self

Ryan, I'm enjoying the new look of your site and understanding YOU a little bit better.

I'm going through my own transition right now, caring for my daughter full time and that has put a new perspective on insurance sales. Questions are rising in my head if putting myself in an "insurance agent" box is the right place for me.

Anyway, I enjoyed reading your post here and wanted to comment because I totally identify with this theme.

Anyway, glad we've been able to connect!
Chris J

Re: A Challenge, When Should We Respect Your Time?

David Dorian here- my answer is that when I am out and about spending time with my family I personally do a few things to make sure my business does not interupt my time with them.

Numero uno- I DO NOT HAVE A CELL PHONE!! I stress this with alot of people because our family is our family. We need to make sure we love them and nuture them and spend QUALITY time with them as much as possible. HOWEVER they do understand that I am a small business owner and when things pop up unexpectedly they understand that I HAVE to cancel with them for the moment because I am bringing myself and my family to my goal which is to make a million dollars.

numero dos- I explain to all of my clients that I do have a family and I believe if im dealing with small, medium, or even large sized businesses theres sort of a automatic knowledge that after a certain part of the day I do not nor will not take business calls. I had to put my foot down a few days ago because I would recieve phone calls at 11pm at night when i was relaxing. I understand some of us work until that time however I OWN my life and if you want to work with me you either work within the parameters I set down because I am the boss or you go about your way.

Those two things I believe are the most important things I do. Here's a quick tip for those who are thinking about starting a business out there now. Ready, shoot, aim. If you do not get yourself ready in your business to launch it into the world then your going to fail. Shoot- implement your ideas into something that will generate income immediately and make sure to consult somebody and ask them if you are ready.(hint: most people are never ready, so what are you waiting for?) Aim:-things are always going to pop up no matter how prepared you think you are so after your business is up and running resolve issues as they arise. This is my quick tip for the day, this is David Dorian saying have a great day and god bless.

Re: A Challenge, When Should We Respect Your Time?

Attention small business owners: Your time means nothing to prospects, customers, and clients!

If you are starting a new business, you better have a passion for it, and believe in what you are doing. In order for a business to succeed, you will need to live, eat, and breath it every single day and sacrifice your time, family, and money!

Most people who are very successful will tell you they did not take time off until they EARNED IT! They worked nights, weekends, and holidays to make it happen. If a person wants the ability to schedule "free" time and have fun, I have an easy solution to make that a reality -> Get a 9-5 job, that way you know exactly when to schedule that personal time.

For the record, statistics show that over 80% of all small businesses fail. I would like to see this change, but too many people are more concerned about their own fun than working hard and hustling to make business happen. If you are lazy, being an entrepreneur is not for you.

For any entrepreneur reading this, please ask yourself these two questions:

1. How bad do you really want it?
2. How much are you willing to sacrifice to make it?

If you can not say 100% to these two questions, stop what you are doing and find something else that will make you feel that way!

Great post Ryan, I am confident this should spark some great discussions!

LOVE IT!!!

~Harrison Painter

Re: http://www.ryanod.com/395/

LOVE IT!!!! --> Pulling up the sleeves and making real estate happen!

I might have taken the $300 bottom line loss after seeing those "special packages"! :)

Re: Is that a Rolex or are you just happy to see me?

Gene,

I have thought about that. It's hard to dress well in all my videos because they aren't "produced". I literally just sit down and speak. Hopefully my message takes more precedent than my dress, but I hear you loud and clear! Thanks!

Re: Is that a Rolex or are you just happy to see me?

Ryan: I'm now catching you on Twitter, so wanted to see your work and style via the videos you produce. Only one comment ... you seem enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and a go-getter, but if you wish to be taken seriously (especially by older professionals or more veteran businesses) I would suggest you upgrade your attire to something more business-appropriate when doing these marketing pieces. The impression would be more solid and obviously more business-like. I understand you and I have an age gap. But, I have no problem listening and believing that you have something worthwhile to say as I have two intelligent sons around your age. Still, as a professional, I feel that your credibility would be increased by this image upgrade. Consider it. Best of luck ...
